Commonly used acid for digestion

Nitric acid (HNO)3)Boiling point 120 ℃

Metals and alloys can be oxidized with nitric acid to their corresponding nitrates, which are usually soluble in water. Some metal elements, such as Au, Pt, Nb, Ta, Zr, are not dissolved. Al and Cr are not easily dissolved. Nitric acid can dissolve most sulfides.

Hydrochloric acid (HCl), boiling point 110 ℃

HCl is not an oxidizing agent and is usually not used to dissolve organic matter. HCl can react with many silicates and some insoluble oxides, sulfates, and fluorides under high pressure and high temperature to form soluble salts. Many carbonates, hydroxides, phosphates, borates, and various sulfides can be dissolved by hydrochloric acid.

Perchloric acid (HClO)4)Boiling point 130 ℃

It is a strong oxidant that can completely decompose organic matter. But perchloric acid can explode when it comes into direct contact with organic matter, so it is usually used in combination with nitric acid. Or join HN0 first3After a period of reaction, add HClO4HClO4It is mostly used for pre-treatment under normal pressure and is rarely used in closed digestion. It should be used with caution.

Hydrofluoric acid (HF), boiling point 112 ℃

Can effectively transform silicates into volatile SiF4And leave other elements to be measured. A small amount of HF combined with other acids can effectively prevent the formation of silicates in the tested elements in the sample.

Sulfuric acid (H)2SO4)Boiling point 338 ℃

Sulfuric acid is an effective solvent for many organic tissues, inorganic oxides, alloys, metals, and ores. It can almost destroy all organic matter. Concentrated H2SO4The boiling point is 338 ℃, and H is generally not used alone2SO4But rather with HNO3Combine and use together.

Phosphoric acid (H)3PO4)Boiling point 158 ℃

Hot H3PO4Suitable for dissolving iron-based alloys that cause specific trace components to evaporate and lose when digested with HCl, phosphoric acid can also dissolve chromite, oxidized iron ore, aluminum slag, etc.

Dissolve commonly used mixed acids

Wang Shui, HCl:HNO3=3:1 v/v

Wang Shui needs to be prepared and used on site. Aqua regia can be used to dissolve many metals and alloys, including steel, high-temperature alloy steel, aluminum alloys, antimony, chromium, and platinum group metals. Plants and wastewater often use it for digestion. Aqua regia can acid wash out some metals from silicate matrices, but cannot effectively dissolve them completely. In addition to aqua regia, nitric acid and hydrochloric acid are often mixed together in other proportions. The so-called Lefort aqua regia, also known as inverse aqua regia, is a mixture of three parts nitric acid and one part hydrochloric acid. Can be used to dissolve sulfur oxides and pyrite.

HN03: H2S04The commonly used ratio is 1:1 (v/v)

The highest temperature of this mixed acid is only higher than that of pure HNO3The highest temperature at that time is about 10 ℃ higher. Under high temperature conditions, it is easy to form sulfate complexes and also has dehydration and oxidation properties. Usually, after completing the initial digestion, H can be added2O2To complete digestion. However, only when the liquid volume decreases and SO is emitted2H can only be added after the gas has been added2O2The samples digested with it include polymers, fats, and organic substances.

HNO3: HF, The commonly used ratio is 5:1 (v/v)

Some metals and alloys that are difficult to handle by other methods can react with this mixed acid and be dissolved. This mixed acid is particularly effective for dissolving metals such as titanium, niobium, tantalum, zirconium, hafnium, tungsten, and their alloys. It can also be used to dissolve rhenium, tin, and tin alloys, various carbides and nitrides, uranium and tungsten ores, sulfide ores, and various silicates.

H2SO4: H3PO4The commonly used ratio is 1:1 (v/v)

This mixed acid can generate extremely high temperatures under low pressure, so it should be used with caution. H3PO4Its function is to act as a solubilizer. Used for dissolving ceramics, especially some ceramics and refractory materials with high aluminum content.

HNO3、 HCl, HF mixed acid

First prepare aqua regia (HCl: HNO)3=4:1, v/v), Prepare aqua regia: HF=7:3 (v/v). Or as HNO3: HCI:HF=5: 15: 3 formulations (v/v). This mixed acid is suitable for dissolving alloys, silicates, rocks, slag, zeolites, glass, ceramics, etc.
